For engine model builders, the challenge is often not drilling the hole - it is putting several small holes in exactly the right relationship to each other. This stage works like a small 2D coordinate positioning system, allowing you to keep the workpiece clamped while making fine X/Y adjustments. Each axis uses its own micrometer drive. The micrometer has 50 divisions, with each division corresponding to 0.01mm of table movement. Turn clockwise to advance and counterclockwise to retract. Release the axis lock before adjustment, then lock it once the desired position is reached.

The 440C stainless steel platform and linear ball-bearing guides are designed for repeated positioning and machining work. Multiple mounting holes allow the stage to be combined with a vise, fixture, rotary accessory or other workshop equipment. Typical applications include drilling engine model mounting holes, positioning holes before M2/M3/M4 tapping, and light milling of slots, flats, mounting surfaces, brackets, cylinder blocks and crankcase components.
