Henry Radio model 2-D HF RF Amplifier Deck 80 thru 10 meters. Condition is for "Parts", needs other material. Very clean, very old, very nice Henry 2-D 80 thru 10 meters RF deck. I built an external High Voltage power supply for this (external power supply is NOT included) and had it on the air about 15 years ago. The external High Voltage power supply, that I built years ago, is disassembled now and I can not fully test the RF deck.
Internal of the 2-D HF RF Amplifier Deck, is the filament transformer with a neutral and 120vac stud at the rear of the RF deck. It has a pair of, very used, somewhat soft , unmatched 3-400, tubes that produced about 800 watts out on 80 meters, with 75 watts of drive, 15 years ago. When I got the Henry RF deck, it looked like it was never used. However, the 3-400 tubes looked very.Used, unlike the RF deck. The only issue I had with the deck, a small piece of wire insulation had dry-rotted, although everything else. I have have upgraded the biasing circuit with a 5 volt zenor diode. If you are thinking of installing a pair of 3-500z tubes, you will also need a pair of chimneys to match the taller 3-500z tubes. There is 2 inches of clearance between the 3-400 anode plate cap and the top lid.
So (2) 3-500z tube may clear the inside of the top lid, you will need to verify this. With the external High Voltage proper power supply, blower, and a new pair of 3-500z tubes, this RF amplifier deck should produce 1100 + watts out. No cables, cords, or connectors.I will properly package the RF deck and bubble wrap the tubes. By the way-> The picture showing the 3-400 tubes glowing with top cover removed, was shot with the HV power supply completely removed, disassembled, and in another building.
