1939 Simplex Model U61T Asymmetrical Wood Tube Radio For Parts / Repair

Up for sale is a beautiful, completely unrestored 1939 Simplex Model U61T asymmetrical tabletop tube radio. This is an iconic piece of pre-WWII American Art Deco design with a highly sought-after wrapper style wood cabinet. Cabinet: The asymmetrical wood cabinet is structurally intact but shows historic wear, scuffs, and finish aging. Crucially, there is lifting and separation of the top layer of veneer along the back upper edge (see photos). Front Face: The original Simplex airplane-style dial face is crystal clear, perfectly legible, and free of the usual heavy yellowing or deep scratches. The metal bezel and both original dark brown knobs are intact, turning smoothly with no frozen parts.

Control Knobs: Both original knobs are present, intact, and turn smoothly, meaning the internal tuning mechanisms are not frozen and will work perfectly once the electronics are restored. Grille Cloth: The original fabric grille cloth has a visible puncture hole in the lower-left corner pattern. Internal Mechanics: The interior is completely untouched and dusty. All tubes Raytheon, Sylvania, Champion, etc.

Appear physically present with grid caps attached. The speaker cone is dusty but intact. This radio is completely UNTESTED. The electronics are 100% original and unserviced.
