A good friend of mine with an empty one ton van is leaving Montana and driving to Pennsylvania and back sometime in late July. This box is pretty much identical to the earlier Model T box with two exceptions. The front panel on a Model T box has an angled cutout on the left side to allow one to install and remove the battery from the frame mounted battery bracket. The Model A box does not have this angled cutout for battery access.

The other difference between the Model T and A boxes is that both side panels are debossed where the 1926 - 1927 Model T Ford roadster rear fenders bolt to the box sides. The Model A box is not debossed and has a pair of curved channels that rivet to the box sides that the Model A coupe or roadster rear fenders then bolt to. I believe the Model T and A tail gates, hinges and latches are identical. The outside of the left front stake pocket is rusted through as you can see in the last photo.

The rear cross member appears to be rust free which is a real blessing. The missing tailgate, hinges and steel strips that hold the wood floor boards in place and the floor center plate are available as reproductions so this box will not be hard to complete. It would also fit the Model T roadsters with slanted windshields that were built from 1923 through 1925.
